IKIGAI WATCHES WARRANTY

IKIGAI WATCHES WARRANTY

Every Ikigai watch is covered by a two-year limited warranty from the original date of purchase.

This warranty applies to watches purchased directly from Ikigai Watches or through an authorised Ikigai Watches retailer or distributor.

What the warranty covers

The warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship that occur during normal use, including defects affecting:

  • The movement
  • The dial, hands or indices
  • The crown and watch case
  • The bracelet or clasp
  • Other components determined by Ikigai Watches to be defective at the time of manufacture

All warranty claims are subject to inspection and approval by Ikigai Watches.

For an approved warranty claim, Ikigai Watches will, at its discretion:

  • Repair the watch;
  • Replace the defective component; or
  • Replace the watch with the same model or a model of similar value if the original model is no longer available.

Approved warranty repairs or replacements will be provided without charge for the affected component or repair work.

What the warranty does not cover

The warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Scratches, dents, chips or cosmetic damage
  • Damage to the sapphire crystal, bezel, case, bracelet, clasp or strap caused by impact or improper use
  • Natural ageing, fading or discolouration of materials
  • Damage caused by accidents, drops, shocks or crushing
  • Damage caused by misuse, negligence or improper handling
  • Damage caused by exposure to chemicals, solvents, perfumes or cleaning products
  • Damage caused by unauthorised repair, servicing, modification or opening of the watch
  • Damage caused by incorrect adjustment of the bracelet, clasp, crown or other components
  • Loss, theft or disappearance of the watch
  • Water damage caused by an unsecured crown, improper use or use beyond the watch’s stated water-resistance rating
  • Damage caused by using the crown or operating the watch while submerged
  • Damage caused by magnetic fields
  • Minor variations in the accuracy of a mechanical movement that remain within the movement manufacturer’s acceptable specifications
  • Packaging, accessories or complimentary items supplied with the watch

The warranty does not cover damage caused by failure to follow the care and operating instructions provided by Ikigai Watches.

Water resistance

Water resistance is not permanent and may reduce over time due to ageing, impact, temperature changes or deterioration of the seals.

The crown must be fully secured before the watch comes into contact with water. The crown and any pushers must not be operated while the watch is underwater.

Water damage will only be covered where Ikigai Watches determines that it resulted from a manufacturing defect and that the watch was used within its stated water-resistance rating.

We recommend having the water resistance and seals professionally checked periodically, especially before using the watch for swimming or diving.

Warranty shipping costs

The customer is responsible for all shipping costs associated with a warranty claim, including:

  • Shipping the watch to Ikigai Watches or the designated service centre
  • Return shipping after inspection, repair or replacement
  • Shipping insurance
  • Import duties
  • Taxes
  • Customs-clearance charges
  • Any other fees imposed by the destination country

Ikigai Watches is not responsible for watches that are lost or damaged during transit. Customers should use a tracked and insured shipping service and package the watch securely.

Unauthorised cash-on-delivery shipments will not be accepted.

How to make a warranty claim

To submit a warranty claim, please contact Ikigai Watches and provide:

  • Your full name
  • Order number or proof of purchase
  • Date of purchase
  • Watch model and colour
  • A clear description of the issue
  • Clear photographs or videos showing the issue
  • The watch’s serial number, where applicable

For purchases made through an authorised retailer or distributor, proof of purchase from that retailer or distributor must be provided.

Please do not send your watch before receiving confirmation and shipping instructions from Ikigai Watches.

Inspection and assessment

Once the watch is received, Ikigai Watches will inspect it to determine whether the issue is covered by the warranty.

Where the issue is not covered, Ikigai Watches may provide a repair quotation. No paid repair work will be carried out without the customer’s approval.

Ikigai Watches reserves the right to reject a warranty claim where:

  • Valid proof of purchase cannot be provided;
  • The watch has been modified or repaired by an unauthorised third party;
  • The damage falls within the listed exclusions; or
  • The information provided in the claim is incomplete or inaccurate.

Replacement watches and parts

Replacement components may differ slightly from the original components due to changes in production, availability or product improvements.

Where a watch is replaced, the replacement watch will remain covered for the remaining period of the original two-year warranty. A replacement does not restart or extend the original warranty period.

Non-transferable warranty

This warranty is provided to the original purchaser and is not transferable unless otherwise approved in writing by Ikigai Watches.

Consumer rights

This limited warranty is provided in addition to any rights that may apply under mandatory consumer-protection laws. Nothing in this policy excludes or limits rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
